A longtime banker, James has experience in practically all facets of banking and is a graduate of banking schools at Southern Methodist University, the University of Oklahoma and Louisiana State University, among other professional training. She most recently served as president of another local financial institution.

James’ civic involvement runs as deep as her banking roots. In addition to having served on the board of directors of Industrial Development Corporation, West Plains Chamber of Commerce, West Plains Rotary Club and the City of West Plains Planning and Zoning Commission, she is a strong supporter of the West Plains School District, Missouri State University, Boys & Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area and the Ozarks Small Business Incubator, among other groups.

James lives in West Plains and is a member of West Plains First Baptist Church. Her son, Brock, and wife, Beth, reside in Springfield, Mo.
