Christmas in southwest Oklahoma will be extra merry this year thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Arvest Foundation to Toy Shop of Duncan. The funds from the Arvest Foundation’s grant will be used to help purchase supplies, gifts, clothing and other items to help the organization fulfill its mission to bring Christmas to kids in the Duncan area.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

“The Arvest Foundation has made an immense impact on our organization and allowed us to continue to give back to the children,” Toy Shop of Duncan Executive Director Kim Davis said. “The Toy Shop of Duncan Board of Directors and volunteers cannot begin to thank the foundation enough for their continued support of our organization. It is so encouraging for the Arvest Foundation to make this type of investment. It lets us know we have the support of the community, and it makes us feel like we’re getting the encouragement to continue our mission.”

Duncan Community Bank President Hal Labyer, mortgage manager Chris Toomey and commercial lender Craig Taliaferro from Arvest Bank presented the check to Davis and a group of Toy Shop of Duncan’s volunteers.

“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation,” Labyer said. “The Toy Shop of Duncan volunteers work year-round to ensure that children in our community have a nice Christmas. Their dedication and passion are a true testament to their love for our community. This donation is one of many we have made throughout the Stephens County area, and it demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to meeting needs in the region.”
