The Russellville, Ark. Police Department will be able to establish a K-9 unit thanks to a $10,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The gift was announced recently at the Arvest Bank branch located at 3005 West Main Place. Arvest associates Jason McGee, Tammy Burchett, Jessy Moreno, Megan Chenowith, Renea Emmons and Aaron McElroy were on hand to present the check to Russellville Police Chief David Ewing and officers Casey Jacimore and Jason Dougan. K-9 members Max and Vinnie also were present.

The funds will go towards K-9 equipment and training for the officers and dogs.

“We are extremely thankful to the Arvest Foundation for this grant,” Ewing said. “It’s been over 20 years since the Russellville Police Department had a K-9 unit and this grant made it possible for us to get the equipment and training needed.”

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, I am pleased to present these funds for the start-up of the K-9 unit,” Moreno said. “Thank you to the Russellville Police Department for its service and continued commitment to protect and serve our community.”
