The Pope County (Ark.) Sherriff’s Office will benefit from an $8,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced today at the Pope County Sheriff’s Office. Shawn Bates, Jason McGee, Megan Chenowith, Brittany Tolliver, and Jessy Moreno of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones.
“Over the last couple of years, the Pope County Sheriff’s Office has recognized a need to obtain automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be placed in our patrol vehicles,” Jones said. “Due to the nature of our presence throughout Pope County on patrol, these AEDs could greatly improve the survivability of anyone during a cardiac event. This community grant from the Arvest Foundation will provide the opportunity for us to purchase the first of these units. I would like to thank the Arvest Foundation for their continued support and partnership.”
“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to support the Pope County Sheriff’s Office efforts,” Bates said. “The grant is supporting the initiative to better equip the officers in responding to emergency scenes and increase their chance of saving someone’s life. This donation is one of many we have made throughout the area and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our community.”
