Teachers and students in the Greenwood, Ark., public school system will benefit from a $4,500 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

The gift was announced at the Arvest Bank in Greenwood. Arvest assistant branch manager Landon Post was on hand to present the check to members of the Greenwood Education Foundation.

“We are so grateful for this grant to help us accomplish the mission of the Greenwood Education Foundation,” said JoElla Skaggs, executive director of the Greenwood Education Foundation. “These scholarships will make a real difference in the educational careers of GHS students, and the grants will enhance the classroom resources for the teachers. The school and community will be reaping the benefits in the years to come.”

“We chose the Greenwood Education Foundation as one of our recipients this year because its mission is to provide grants and educational resources to teachers in the Greenwood school district as well as scholarships to graduating seniors,” Skinner said, “On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, we are honored to be able to present this donation so we can continue to support the Greenwood community.”
