Focus on Greenwood’s Trail of Lights scholarship program has received a boost in the form of a $5,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The gift was announced recently when Arvest Bank representatives Megan Keenom, Karan Spector and Gina Metz presented a check to Richard McKinney of Focus on Greenwood and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce’s Mark Huneycutt.

Focus on Greenwood’s Trail of Lights takes places at Bell Park in Greenwood, Ark. For a small donation, individuals and families are welcome to walk or drive through the Trail of Lights. Proceeds are used to fund scholarships given to students from lower-income families.

“We are so appreciative of this donation by the Arvest Foundation,” McKinney said. “’We normally focus on providing three scholarships each year, but due to COVID restrictions, we were only able to award two last year. These scholarships benefit students interested in attending trade schools and this donation helps get us back on track providing help to these families.”

“It has been a pleasure working with Focus on Greenwood to determine how we can help on behalf of the Arvest Foundation,” Spector said. “It’s truly a wonderful feeling to help make a difference in our community.”
