The Arvest Foundation recently donated $5,000 to Ashdown Matters in Ashdown, Ark. These funds will be used to support charitable needs as they arise, including the organization’s community support efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The funds will help Ashdown Matters ramp up its giving initiatives and allow Ashdown Matters to:

  • Provide charitable gifts to local organizations in need of funding and resources
  • Fund free youth and family programs to the citizens of Ashdown
  • Continue to seek out services that improve the city of Ashdown and provide support

The Arvest Foundation donation will also allow Ashdown Matters to contribute to the IMPACT Walking for Christ 2020 fundraiser. This annual event is sponsored by Rev. Jim Cross, who commits one day per year to taking a 30-mile trek through Ashdown to raise money for local charities.

“We are grateful for Arvest Bank’s donation and for its commitment to the Ashdown community,” said Eric Cross, executive director of Ashdown Matters. “This donation is going to be helpful as we continue to uplift this community during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“Ashdown Matters is committed to investing in the community, something that Arvest Bank is passionate about as well,” said Danny Young, bank market president of Arvest Bank in Ashdown. “Its efforts to show appreciation for our medical personnel were just one example of how this organization is so willing to jump into action when its community needs help.”
