ROGERS, Ark. – Arvest Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Maria Lau as mortgage loan manager for its Benton County market.

Lau has worked in various capacities at Arvest since 2000, most recently as sales coordinator for Arvest Mortgage Division. She also previously worked as mortgage loan manager for Arvest’s Fort Smith market and as sales manager for Waco Title Co, as well as serving an instrumental role in the launch, management and growth of Arvest Fort Smith’s Private Banking department.

In her new role, Lau will provide direction to Arvest Benton County’s mortgage division in addition to being responsible for its generation, evaluation, approval, processing, closing and servicing of real estate loans.

Lau earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas and has been involved in numerous civic groups in Fort Smith, including United Way’s Power of the Purse program, Fort Smith Symphony and Fort Smith Crisis Intervention Center. Additionally, Lau is a member of the Fort Smith Board of Realtors and the Greater Fort Smith Association of Homebuilders, and is a past president of the Western Arkansas Mortgage Bankers Association.

Lau and her husband, Keith, have two adult children.
