Arvest Bank has cancelled the 23rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament that was scheduled for Oct. 26, due to the forecast for storms in the area this weekend.
Proceeds from this year’s annual tournament benefit nonprofit organizations in North Central Arkansas. This year’s recipient organizations are the Imagination Library of Baxter County, School of New Hope, Serenity Inc. and Sanctuary, Inc. The benefitting nonprofits were selected after a nomination process earlier this year.
Companies and individuals who sponsored the golf tournament or registered to play may donate their fees to benefit the nonprofit organizations or receive a refund.
Tournament sponsor Genuine Care Pharmacy is donating the $3,000 from their sponsorship to benefit the recipient nonprofits. Arvest Bank will match that gift.
“This is the first time in the history of this tournament that we have had to cancel the event, but we are grateful for the support the community has shown these nonprofits by signing up to participate,” said Mike Willard, president and CEO of Arvest Bank in North Central Arkansas. “We are grateful for Genuine Care Pharmacy’s donation and we are proud to double that gift in support of these nonprofit organizations that are vital to our community.”
The original date for the tournament in August was rescheduled due to severe weather. The tournament will not be rescheduled for later this year. Arvest has set the date of August 29, 2020 for next year’s tournament at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.
