The Spiro (Okla.) Fire Department will be able to perform its job more diligently thanks to a $2,500 donation from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced recently at the Spiro Fire Department. Suzie Bigler of Arvest Bank was on hand to present the check.
“Spiro Fire Department would like to thank the Arvest Foundation for the grant we received in the amount of $2,500,” Spiro Fire Department Capt. Roy Don Smith said. “This grant will allow us to purchase a new Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) to assist in our duties. The TIC will allow for the search of victims in a house fire to be done in a more efficient and safe manner, as well as being able to locate fire that could be hidden in a wall. Having this, we will be able to perform our job more effectively and efficiently.”
“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to the Spiro Fire Department. The department gives back to the Spiro community often, so it is great to provide them support,” Bigler said. “This donation is just one of many we have made throughout the area. We trust that it demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to organizations in our community that are making a difference.”
