The Salvation Army will benefit from a $5,480 donation from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced recently at the Salvation Army in Fort Smith. Beth Presley of Arvest Bank was on hand to present the check.
The funds will be used to improve the quality of service from the shelter’s cafeteria by purchasing a new ice machine and a new commercial tea maker.
“The staff and advisory board members of The Salvation Army of Fort Smith would like to thank Arvest Foundation for its support of our Red Shield Diner,” said Staci Gainey, Salvation Army Captain. “Volunteers and employees serve in the diner 365 days of the year and we are grateful for the assistance in purchasing the equipment needed to do this.”
“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to support the Salvation Army’s efforts to assist those in need in the Fort Smith area,” Arvest sales manager Mike Jacimore said. “This donation shows the foundation’s continued support of local organizations and our entire community. We are proud to be a part of making Fort Smith a great place to live.”
