The gift was announced at Poteau High School. Tyler Atkinson, Ted Sheets, and Suzie Bigler of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Poteau Public Schools staff.

The high school’s agriculture building was damaged by a fire recently and the grant will be used to replace equipment and supplies that were destroyed.

“The FFA facility and classroom was recently destroyed by fire,” said Don Sjoberg, Poteau Public Schools superintendent. “We are so fortunate to have businesses and local leaders who support our program. This donation from the Arvest Foundation is much-appreciated as we take steps to build a bigger and better program for our students.”

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, our associates in Poteau are happy to present this donation that will be used to replace equipment and supplies lost in the recent fire,” said Sheets, community bank president in Eastern Oklahoma. “This donation is just one of many we have made throughout the area. It demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to the organizations in our community that are making a difference.”
