The Pope County Fair Association has received a $5,000 grant that will benefit the local 4-H Club from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced recently when Shawn Bates, community bank president for Arvest Bank in Russellville, Ark., presented a check to Pope County Fair Association board member Steve Rogers. Bates made the presentation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation.
“The foundation continues to show support that fosters farm and agricultural culture for our youth,” Bates said. “This donation is just one of many we have made throughout the area and we trust it demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to organizations that are creating positive change for others throughout our community.”
The grant will be used to purchase a much-needed building that will provide office space for 4-H Club operations, as well as some storage space. 4-H Club students participate in livestock competitions at the annual county fair.
“We appreciate the Arvest Foundation’s generosity,” Rogers said. “This grant will greatly benefit our 4-H Club students for years to come.”
