Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Gene Gates has been promoted to loan manager in Fayetteville. He’s also been named executive vice president.

Helping customers save on family fun.

Gates has more than 35 years of industry experience and joined Arvest in 2014. He most recently served as commercial loan manager. Gates replaces Craig Shy, who was named local bank president for Arvest in Fayetteville in October. In his new role, Gates will provide leadership and day-to-day overall direction and administration of lending in the Fayetteville region.

“Gene’s vast experience and his familiarity with our Fayetteville customers and lending operations make him a natural and ideal fit for this role,” Shy said. “We all recognize the needs and expectations of our customers and prospects are changing, and Gene is well-suited to lead us as we strive to meet them.”

Gates earned a bachelor’s degree in business at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He is an active member serving on multiple committees for the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and has held office with Ducks Unlimited, among other civic endeavors.

Gates and his wife, Amanda, have two adult children and live in Fayetteville.
