The De Queen Police Department will gain a new teammate thanks to a $4,500 donation from the Arvest Foundation. The gift was announced today at the De Queen branch.
Thanks to the donation from the Arvest Foundation, officer Jarrin Platt was able to attend the Little Rock K-9 Academy Aug 5-16, where he received a total of 80 hours training with his new partner, Raptor. Raptor is a 2-year old male Belgian Malinois who is trained in Narcotics Detection, Bite and Tracking.
“On behalf of the City of De Queen, we would like to thank the Arvest Foundation for this donation and all that they do for the community,” Platt said.
“We are honored to present this donation to the De Queen Police Department,” Patti Boone, Arvest branch sales manager, said. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to support the De Queen police force and the community that they serve. This donation is just one of many examples that shows Arvest is committed to positively impacting the community.”
