Police officers in Mena, Ark., will receive new uniforms thanks to an $8,400 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

The gift was announced today at the Mena City Hall. Theresa Young, Shawna Powell, Chase Henry, Chris Thrailkill, and Alyvia Self of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check.

Each officer will be outfitted with both summer and winter uniforms. The new style of uniform displays a professional look while providing more comfort and function for the officer. These everyday-wear uniforms will be in addition to the traditional uniforms needed for court appearances and other functions requiring formal wear.

“The City of Mena is extremely grateful to the Arvest Foundation for this very generous donation to our department,” said Mena police chief Tommy Stueart.

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, we are very thankful for the opportunity to help the Mena Police Department purchase new uniforms,” Young said. “The new uniforms will enhance the safety, appearance, and comfort of the Mena Police Department.”
