Friends of the Chickasha Public Library will be able to continue providing free books in Grady County thanks to a $5,000 Arvest Foundation grant.
The gift was announced recently in Chickasha. Financial Sales Representative Leslie Sanchez and Commercial Loan Assistant Zac Robbins of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Drew Cooper, Susan Gearhart, Dr. Jeanne Mather, Barbara Merritt, Betsy Phillips, Cindy Wheeler and Janice Wood from Friends of the Chickasha Public Library.
The Arvest Foundation’s donation will be used to continue the Friends of the Chickasha Public Library’s book distribution in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Through the program, the organization gifts books to children from birth until their fifth birthday.
“We’d like to thank the Arvest Foundation again for its generous donation to the Friends for our partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library,” said Wheeler. “Early literacy is important to the success of our children, and this donation will make a huge difference to many families here in Grady County.”
“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to ensure the Friends of the Chickasha Public Library can continue to provide free books,” said Chickasha Community Bank President Karene Sandra. “We are happy to play a small part in inspiring kids to read at a young age.”
