The Help Center in Neosho, Mo., will be able to replace its roof thanks to a $5,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced recently at the Help Center, where Arvest Bank representatives presented a check on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to The Help Center staff members. The Help Center provides meals for about 900 families in the Newton County area and its roof had sustained storm damage.
“It means the world. It is a lot,” said the Help Center’s Donya Tomlin. “We’re so blessed to have the foundation and to have it donating to us.”
The roof replacement is critical because it provides safe storage for the food raised for local hungry families.
“We are thrilled to make this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation,” Arvest Bank commercial banker Terra Oxendine said. “Food-insecurity is an issue that hits close to home and we trust this donation reflects the foundation’s commitment to fighting it and helping those in need in our communities.”
