Camp Invention in Fort Smith is getting some new campers thanks to a $6,000 grant from the Arvest Foundation. Put on through the National Inventors Hall of Fame and led by qualified local educators, Camp Invention is a summer camp for STEM students in K-6 that offers new, hands-on activities every year.
“The Arvest Foundation’s generous donation is greatly appreciated,” Brandi Harper, a teacher at Ramsey Middle School, said. “It will help to provide numerous scholarships for students to attend Camp Invention.”
Regional President Roger Holroyd and Sales Manager Mike Jacimore of Arvest Bank presented the check to Harper and fellow local teacher Ashley Bain.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help young minds in our community grow,” Jacimore said, “and programs like Camp Invention are a vital part of achieving that goal.”
