The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s Men of Excellence (MOX) program has received a boost in the form of a $2,000 grant from the Arvest Foundation.

Helping customers save on family fun.

The gift was announced recently at the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center at UAFS. Arvest’s Tammy Roper and Jennifer Caldwell were on hand to present the check.

Men of Excellence is a mentorship program designed to cultivate a new generation of River Valley leaders. This donation will help fund campus programming, professional development and business attire for participating students. The program is designed to increase retention among all male students, but men of color, specifically.

“On behalf of Men of Excellence, I would like to say thank you to the Arvest Foundation for the generous donation given to MOX during our crowdfunding event,” said Glenn Brewer II, president of Men of Excellence.

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, we are pleased to provide support to MOX for its initiative to retain, mentor and encourage these young men within our community,” Roper said. “We value the guidance provided towards their strong career paths at UAFS.”
