CARE Food Pantry’s effort to provide assistance to food-insecure families in Cherokee (Okla.) County got a boost in the form of a $5,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced recently, as Arvest Bank associates Brandon Tate, Beverly Adkisson and Trena Payton presented a check to CARE Food Pantry manager Rebecca Baughman and board of directors president Barbara Partak. The funds will be used to purchase food for those in need.
“We greatly appreciate this donation and will use this to purchase supplies when we see an increase in demand,” Baughman said.
“We are happy to provide this donation to the CARE Food Pantry to assist the citizens of Tahlequah and the surrounding communities,” Tate said. “This donation is just one of many we have made throughout the area and we trust it demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to education and to the children in the region.”
