The Shawnee (Okla.) Fire Department’s efforts to promote safety in local schools received a boost in the form of a $12,500 grant awarded by the Arvest Foundation.

Helping customers save on family fun.

The gift was announced recently when Arvest Bank community president Chris Clark and commercial loan manager Brian Nave presented a check to members of the Shawnee Fire Department. Specifically, the grant will be used to fund the Shawnee Clown Project, which allows local firefighters to provide education related to fire, bike and stranger safety in a fun and entertaining fashion at local schools.

“We are so pleased to have the opportunity to present the Shawnee Fire Department with these Arvest Foundation funds that will further the initiative of fire safety within our local school districts,” Nave said. “This donation will greatly benefit the community we are extremely proud to be a part of and we trust it reflects the foundation’s ongoing commitment to the children in our area.”
