Saint John Catholic School’s STEM lab is getting a robotics upgrade thanks to a $4,500 grant from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The gift was announced recently at the school in Russellville, Ark. Shawn Bates, Megan Chenowith and Jessy Moreno of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check.

The funds will help Saint John purchase robotics kits for its students and allow the school to:

  • Offer robotics to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade
  • Purchase Vex robotics competition kits
  • Provide students in grades 3-5 with the opportunity to compete in robotics competitions across the state

The Arvest Foundation donation will also allow Saint John to increase its students’ knowledge of robotics in all grades.

“We are excited to be able to offer robotics to all students in Grades K-5 this year during their technology class,” said Vivian Fox, principal of Saint John Catholic School. “We also offer an after-school robotics club for students in K-2 and students in grades 3-5. We offer our sincere thank you to the Arvest Foundation for helping Saint John Catholic School expand our robotics program.”

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, my teammates and I are very excited and proud to present this grant to the Saint John STEM program for its very first robotics team,” said Jessy Moreno, Arvest loan assistant supervisor. “We wish the best for the students in their initial year of robotics competitions!”
