Arvest announced plans to invest $4.5 million to build a new state-of-the-art branch serving the Prospect Avenue corridor in east Kansas City.
The new facility will be located at the site of the current branch building at 3121 Prospect Ave., which is more than 70 years old. To continue serving customers during construction, Arvest setup temporary banking facilities across the street in the Linwood Shopping Center and added ATMs with Live Tellers immediately south of the current building.
“We have served the Prospect Avenue community for 50 years and we are looking forward to spending another 50 years as part of this community,” said Mark Larrabee, president and CEO of Arvest Greater Kansas City. “We have planned carefully so our customers will not see any disruption in service, and we look forward to not just meeting their banking needs but meeting them in the community working hand-in-hand to bring about positive change.”
Demolition is planned to begin in early March with the new facility expected to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2023. Once completed, the new branch will include ATM with Live Teller machines, which will help extend bank hours to 73 hours per week from 43 hours per week. The facility will also provide 24/7 access to ATMs and have space for community meetings.
