Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Jim Roth has joined its local board of directors in Central Oklahoma.

Roth is dean of the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he also serves as a tenured professor. He represents Phillips Murrah, an Oklahoma City-based law firm, providing leadership to its natural resources department and chairs its clean energy practice group. Additionally, Roth is president and founder of A New Energy LLC, a consultancy specializing in energy policy and developments throughout the United States.

A current board member for Texcom, Inc. and Global Innovation Platform, Roth previously served as an Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner and the Oklahoma County Commissioner for District 1. He also worked for eight years as a county attorney.

Roth earned a bachelor’s degree in political science/pre-law from Kansas State University and his law degree at Oklahoma City University. He also holds graduate certificates from Harvard Kennedy School, The United States Air War College’s National Security Forum at Maxwell Air Force Base and The Institute of Public Utilities at Michigan State University.

Roth is a board member for the United Way of Central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Humane Society, among a long list of current and previous civic endeavors.
