The $3,000 gift was announced recently at the school in Muskogee, Okla., with Arvest Bank associates Greg Eby and Harvey Hill on hand to present a check to New Tech at Cherokee Elementary School principal Reubin L. McIntosh and assistant superintendent Kim J. Dyce.

The funds will be used to purchase a magnetic data tracking system. The school believes data boards with magnetic markers will help track student progress respective to time-bound goals and expectations.

“We will be able to not only track student achievement, but we will be able to further boost the intrinsic motivation of certified classroom teachers as they continue to plan and teach lessons that are authentic and responsive to the individual needs for each scholar at New Tech at Cherokee Elementary School,” McIntosh said.

“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to support New Tech at Cherokee’s efforts to provide a greater educational experience for its students,” said Eby, president for Arvest in Muskogee. “This donation is just one of many we have made throughout our community and we trust it demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to education and to our children.”
