Residents in the Moreland, Ark., area will enjoy increased security from fires thanks to a $5,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The gift was announced recently at the Arvest Bank branch located at 3005 West Main Place in Russellville. Shawn Bates, Tony Warren, Taylor Porter, Ashley Crowell, Renea Emmons and Jessy Moreno of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Keith Sinyard, chief of the Moreland Fire Department, and board member Chuck Marcoe.

The funds will be used to purchase saws, site lighting and new fire nozzles for the fire department.

“The Moreland Fire Department would like to thank the Arvest Foundation for awarding us this grant,” Sinyard said. “This grant will be used to further extend the safety and readiness of the fire department to serve the community when needed. Thanks to this grant, we can get equipment that we wouldn’t normally be able to obtain. We are very thankful for the investment that the Arvest Foundation makes to the communities it serves.”

“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to support the Moreland Fire Department in upgrading their equipment,” Bates said. “The grant will help purchase advanced heavy equipment for each engine. The Moreland Fire Department responds when called upon to aid Pope County 911 and all other neighboring districts for fires in rural areas. This donation is just one of many we have made throughout the area and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our surrounding community.”
