An Arkansas Razorback legend’s effort to support diversity and inclusion efforts in the Harrison, Arkansas community has received an assist in the form of a $5,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

Moncrief Game Changer, Inc., led by former Hog and NBA Hall of Famer Sidney Moncrief, recently was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Arvest Foundation. Among Moncrief Game Changer’s efforts was the recent “We Are One” event held on Oct. 23. The event was organized by Moncrief in partnership with the Harrison Chamber of Commerce and the Harrison Diversity and Inclusivity Committee.

The event consisted of several 8th and 9th grade Harrison students, along with their parents, traveling with local Harrison community leaders to the City Center of Little Rock to join students and community leaders from Central Arkansas for a diversity, equity, inclusion and community building learning experience.

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, we are grateful for the opportunity to show our support for Harrison’s diversity and inclusion efforts,” said Scott Tennyson, community bank president for Arvest in Harrison. “We are proud to be on the forefront of helping drive continued change in our community.”

In addition to being a former basketball standout, Moncrief is an author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker. His organization aims to educate, enhance and develop individuals, teams and communities through engaging programs.

“Fellowship is key to understanding others and cultivating relationships and I appreciate the support from the Arvest Foundation,” Moncrief said. “We are grateful for the engagement of both our Harrison and Little Rock communities in supporting these vital initiatives.”
