Students in need of school supplies in the Clarksville, Ark., area will be getting a surprise soon, courtesy of a $3,000 grant to Clarksville’s Junior Auxiliary from the Arvest Foundation.
Assistant branch manager Britney Hogeland, branch sales manager Heather Appleton, commercial/agricultural lender Daniel Kimbrough, commercial banker Tony Warren, commercial loan assistant Vanessa De Haro and teller Reina Mazon of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Jessica Pianalto, Carol Martin, Lindsey Werner, Emily Herring and Katie Warren from the Junior Auxiliary.
The funds will help the Junior Auxiliary provide school supplies and essential items as part of its school store project to students in need at public schools in the following areas:
- Clarksville
- Westside
- Oark
- Lamar
“We thank the Arvest Foundation for the support and belief in the work we do to award us these funds,” said Carol Martin, Junior Auxiliary life advisor. “This donation will play a major part in the success of the school store project. Last year we provided 1,134 children with stuffed backpacks at the school store and another 60 children with requests from the schools, housing authority, Safe Haven and Ozark Rape Crisis. We also have supplies in all our area schools for emergency needs. Thank you again for the funding to provide these supplies for our children.”
