Students seeking post-secondary education opportunities will benefit from a recent donation of $6,000 by the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The foundation’s gift to the Caney Community Foundation was announced recently, and Arvest associates Sandy Burns and Becky Newman presented the check to city administrator Fred Gress and Caney Community Foundation board members Frank LaForge and Danny Scott. Newman also serves as the Caney Community Foundation treasurer.

The funds will be used for scholarships to be given to Caney students who are pursuing post-secondary education.

“Both the Arvest Foundation and the Caney Community Foundation believe in the power of post-secondary education, so this was a great fit,” Newman said. “The Arvest Foundation’s generosity is much-appreciated. We trust that this gift also demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to the children in our area and their efforts to further their education.”
