Children in Sequoyah County, Okla., will benefit from a $3,200 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The gift was announced recently at the Boys & Girls Club of Sequoyah County in Sallisaw. Lacey Prentice of Arvest Bank was on hand to present the check.

The donation will help to fund two new carports at the club to provide shade for children playing outside during the warm summer months.

“The safety and well-being of our club members is top priority at the Boys & Girls Club of Sequoyah County,” said Laura Kuykendall, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Sequoyah County. “This grant from the Arvest Foundation, for which we are extremely thankful, will help support our efforts to keep our members safe when outdoors in the sun. These carports will prevent our members from getting sunburned and heat stroke during our hot summer months as well as allowing outdoor classroom time. We are blessed to have such a wonderful partner in the Arvest Foundation!”

“We are very excited to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to the Boys & Girls Club of Sequoyah County,” Prentice said. “We are happy to have this opportunity to support the club and its wonderful students. This is just one of many ways the foundation continues to support the communities that we serve.”
