Teachers and students in the Greenwood, Ark., public school system will benefit from an $8,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The gift was announced recently at the Greenwood Public Schools central office. Jamie Skinner and Aimee Vandergriff from Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check to Greenwood Public Schools staff members.

The funds will be used to support the Greenwood Parent Center, East Pointe Elementary and Westwood Elementary snack pantries, and the Greenwood High School EMS & Sports Trainer programs.

“Through the years we have enjoyed a positive relationship with the Arvest team that has been beneficial for our students and community,” said Suzy Wilson, Greenwood Public Schools assistant superintendent. “This grant will provide a variety of assistance to our students, from those with basic physiological needs to those with aspirations to work in the medical field someday. Thank you to the Arvest Foundation for supporting Greenwood Public Schools!”

“We are honored to be able to present this donation to Greenwood Public Schools on behalf of the Arvest Foundation,” Skinner said. “We are so thankful that we get to be a part of such a great community and school district. I am looking forward to seeing the benefits of this donation help out our students and community.”
