The United Way of Northeast Arkansas’ ongoing efforts to provide support for those dealing with the effects of both a recent tornado and the COVID-19 crisis received a boost recently in the form a $7,500 grant from the Arvest Bank Foundation.

Help us fight hunger in our community.

The grant was provided to United Way of Northeast Arkansas executive director Nanette Heard recently. Heard said the grant’s impact will be felt immediately, as it will help those in need get through some challenging circumstances.

“United Way of Northeast Arkansas is very grateful to work with the Arvest Bank Foundation in support of our COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund and our Jonesboro disaster relief effort,” Heard said. “The foundation continues to be an essential partner here in Northeast Arkansas as we all work together to recover and rebuild our community.”

Kevin Hufstedler, community bank president for Arvest in Jonesboro, is a United Way of Northeast Arkansas board member. He praised the organization for its work to help those in need.

“We are pleased to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Bank Foundation, particularly because it will provide immediate help,” Hufstedler said. “We trust this donation reflects the foundation’s ongoing commitment to those who call the Jonesboro area home.”
